[TriEmbed] Don't you just hate that turn-on surge that damages circuits?

Here is an article from Elektor Magazine's blogs about inrush current
protection:

Build an Inrush Current Limiter for AC and DC Loads

The inrush current, input surge current, or switch-on surge is the maximum
instantaneous input current drawn by an electrical device when first turned
on. Inrush current is much higher than the load’s steady-state current and
can cause all sorts of problems. Blowing the load’s fuse is a common issue
as are sparks at the switch contacts, but it can also result in load
failure and reducing its lifetime. Here are two proposals to address this
problem: one for AC and one DC loads.
