 >You know that any Android phone is running Linux under it's crap and that you can run a linux shell just like a chromebook can, right?

I have not given the proper due diligence to android, but I HATE Android as a platform. I have been dying to get a decent linux distribution on a smart phone. To call Android linux is a perturbation at a minimum. Yes it runs the kernel, but it is a bloody nightmare to use it as typical linux distribution. They have hijacked every aspect of what you expect from a normal linux distribution.
I have played around with it enough to have ditched the idea of using smart phones and all there goodies for a low cost with Android as the OS.
Nobody is reliably hacking this idea of Android phones to load say a debian distro. Ubuntu tried and failed.
Pine being the latest that I have seen to make this attempt, but they are not too cheap either. I mean relative to say buying a $30 out of style brand new phone and using all those great sensors and camera and screen. I was lured into that temptation and came out frustrated, but not totally unusable, just not wanting to spend the time to jump through hoops for something that should be trivial. Like reliably running processes.
Have you sensed irritation? Well your right. `,~)
