Folks,

TLDR; a prep session/partial dry run of an electronics
instruction-oriented event is happening at Splatspace this afternoon
from roughly 2-5:30pm. You're all welcome to swing by to chew the fat,
examine/exercise some of my shop equipment, try out a few simple
exercises, and/or help with some Splatspace infrastructure construction*
while there's discussion of teaching electronics to the hands on,
practical people as well as the nerdy theorists.

The goal (again) is to launch the event formally via Meetup and the
Splatspace event calendar for Sunday December 4th, but there will be
another prep session on the 27th.

Regards,
Pete

*The TI BQ24450-based charger I designed for the "Splat sign batteries"
has the unfortunate property of driving old and/or mishandled batteries
into thermal runaway and we just can't have that at Splatspace since all
the batteries in use are "well used" and it's too much to ask of folks
to avoid accidental mishandling to do with charge cycles. Sorry about
that. And you know how it is: I poured a lot of energy into the one
solution and at the point it became obvious it was the wrong my
enthusiasm flagged and my pride prevented the proper expedient solution
I'm providing today while regrouping.
