The monthly meeting of the Triangle Embedded Interest Group will be this
Monday starting at 7pm in room _/2201/_ of NCSU Engineering Building
_/*Three*/_, 911 Oval Drive, Raleigh. Note the building and room change.
This is straight across the green from building 1 (below building 2).

This month's meeting will feature a talk by Rob Henry discussing the
design and engineering of his mountain bike lighting system described
below. Following Rob's presentation it will be "open mike" for show and
tell and general chats.

*Abstract:* Rob will talk about the evolution of his upcoming consumer
product - a bike light designed for mountain bikers and commuters. He'll
give an overview of his process and challenges, showcase a few of the
iterations of the product (both mechanical housing and electronics), and
talk a little about his online marketing to date. And he'll bring
working prototypes to play with! The talk will be open and
conversational - he'll be prepared to dive deeper into any particular
area the audience may be interested in. And, of course, welcomes any
advice and ideas the TriEmbed group may have!
This month we can share stories from the Raleigh Hamfest (pictures on
and linked from the blog page here <http://triembed.org/blog/?p=1495>).
Bring your projects, lightning talks, questions and project challenges
to share. If you have something suitable for a video recording on
YouTube please let us know ahead of time. Ditto if you would like to
present at a future meeting.

*Bio overview:* Rob has an Aerospace Engineering degree from VA Tech and
MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill. Although he is an engineer by training, he
has spent his career split between serving in the Navy and as an IT
consultant. Recently Rob has decided to get back to his engineering
roots - relearning mechanical design, coding, and DC based electronics.
He is currently working on a consumer product - a bike light - which
should be available sometime this summer.
