I talked a little at the meeting about The Forge Initiative (formerly Wake
Robotics) and what it does. Here are some upcoming events that might be
interesting for TriEmbed people.

*This Saturday (April 16), Marbles Kids Museum asked us to partner with
them in helping get people excited about coding. *
Saturday, 1 to 4 (set up at 12:30)
https://www.marbleskidsmuseum.org/kidscode

   - 3 tables of 3D printing and TinkerCAD
   - 1 table of Ken, Humanoid Robot if possible
   - I can ask about room for other robot/programming if students are
interested -- sign up on the logistics spreadsheet
   - PLUS, because they think we are expert at tech outreach, they've asked
us to help 6 to 10 yo's use some Lenovo-donated laptops to get them started
coding using the following programs (they're fun -- try them!)...
   -
      -

-BITSBOX <https://bitsbox.com/hoc2015.html> You're about to make your
own apps! Please use your new super powers wisely.
      -

      -ScratchJr <http://www.scratchjr.org/>
      -

      -Code.Org StarWars <https://code.org/starwars>
      -

      -Code.org Frozen puzzle
      <https://studio.code.org/s/frozen/stage/1/puzzle/1>

   - Who can help? Anyone who can run some of the programs above, or is
ready to talk about 3D printing or Ken. If you'd like to learn to talk
about these, please sign up and we'll incorporate you!

*Next Saturday (April 23), IEEE is bringing their brand new MOVE truck to
Hopewell for us to tour* -- plus we're inviting anyone from the public and
IEEE members who would like to see it. The truck is very cool -- and very
new -- and is set up to help in case of disasters. You can see more about
it here:
http://theinstitute.ieee.org/career-and-education/preuniversity-education/ieee-partners-with-red-cross-to-help-during-natural-disasters
https://www.facebook.com/ieeeusamove/

1:00 to 4:30 (MOVE truck is 1:30 to 4:00)

   - Sign up if you're interested in coming to see the MOVE truck
   - Also sign up if you're able to give people tours, talk about Ken, and
maybe get them interested in playing with Rube Goldberg
   - And, an open forge for anyone who wants to be working on other projects

*The FOLLOWING Saturday (April 30), we're partnering with the Museum of
Life & Science i*n Durham to do a family-oriented 3D printer workshop.
We're going to take some 3D printers, water color bot, and maybe some
pancake bots. If you're interested in helping with a workshop with any of
these printers/bots sign up on the spreadsheet. Even if you just want to
learn how to work with these printers. Final details are still to be
worked out on what the specific program will look like.
