I think your assertion that one out of 314 million people becoming very successful indicating that "the American dream is alive and well" is extremely flawed. It would probably be a statistical anomaly for a college dropout to not become very wealthy every ten years or so. But that seems like a discussion for another venue.

>> Palmer Luckey, The founder of Oculus Rift, started in his parents garage after dropping out of College. He came from a humble beginning with no serious ties to riches. He had an idea, he is a self trained Techie and he made it happen. He got 2.4 Million with a kickstarter campaign and recently Facebook bought his company for 2 Billion. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

>> Kudos Palmer for showing us it can still happen in this world where many expect Gov. Funding to produce advancement. This Technology is being looked at for Military uses as well as just plain old gaming. Check it out, it is amazing and it goes right along with my prediction for BIG solutions coming out of the Hacking Community.

>> I will say it again: We are a period similar to the late '70's where the Hacking Community was creating home computers and HUGE advancements appeared to the public to come from no where. I expect this time period to mimic what is happening in the Maker Community today and we should see a HUGE Technology jump in the next 1-2 decades that mimics the 80's and 90's in similar trans-formative technologies that changes the way we live. I believe the Commercialization of all this behind the scenes work started around 2010 and we are turning the corner with huge investments that will continue to drive this new paradigm.
