TL;DR Radio amateurs: relax.
A FCC vote next week on the 28th may ban a range of Chinese electronics items deemed a security threat because they can potentially be controlled to carry out surveillance, denial of service, data exfiltration or other naughty stuff.
One brand, Hytera makes handhelds for amateurs and there may be others.
