I won't claim expert level, but after reading this write up:

Buying the Engineer PA-09 crimper and some practice I got to the point
where I was getting 70-80% success rate on JST-PH (I think) connectors
during robot season.

My new Voron printer uses PH connectors for some stepper motors and FRC
motor encoders use them as well. I found that good tweezers, magnification
and peace and quiet helped considerably. I ordered from DigiKey. I'd be
happy to meet and show my technique if it would help.
