[TriEmbed] Old Pi(s) with USB WiFi stopped working

I just noticed my old pi  with USB WiFi I had running for years and another
spare not working -  I tried both but don't seem to be connecting when I
try to see them  on my router  "attached devices" or ssh in with a pi 4.
Hoping for helpful hint before I dig to China.
