[TriEmbed] Eagle frozen at 9.6.2? (and fix on Linux)

The rate of updates to Eagle has slowed drastically. Based on my 
experience from the other side of the fence I'd say development of this 
has stopped with the focus shifted to the "Eagle+Fusion 360" product 
(that costs almost 4X as much as Eagle by itself).

Anybody seen an official pronouncement on this topic?

By the way, if you're using Eagle with Linux you may suddenly find that 
after a Linux update Eagle comes up with black windows. The fix is to 
mod your desktop launcher exec line something like this:

     Exec=env LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 /opt/eagle-9.6.2/eagle
