Friends,

We are having a meeting on Oct 02, 2017 at 7 pm (6:20 pm for pizza) in 2201
Engineering Building 3. The subject will be

"NCSU R&A: ecoPRT at NCSU - Dr. Seth Hollar, Drones for Geoscience - Dr.
Justyna Jeziorska"

Please refer to the registration link below for more details.

Requesting all of your co-ordination to mindfully welcome, appreciate and
get inspired by Dr. Seth Hollar and the team about their invaluable ecoPRT
project and Dr. Justyna Jeziorska based on Geospatial analytics - STEM in
practice efforts.

"ecoPRT" was originally conceived in response to a significant need at
North Carolina State University. For over a decade, the master
architectural plan for the NCSU campus has shown a transportation corridor
marked “Future monorail” between the D.H. Hill library on Main campus and
the Hunt library on Centennial campus. ecoPRT is an project being designed
and prototyped to be the system that fills this corridor. Please refer to
following link for more information about ecoPRT project. Highly
impressive Dr. Seth Hollar and his team will present about their project
information involving ecoPRT.

Drones for Geoscience involves interdisciplinary STEM approaches that
focuses on discovery, interpretation and communication of meaningful
patterns in location-based data. This field develops and apply geospatial
approaches to complex problems, advancing innovative solutions using
spatial data. Dr. Justyna Jeziorska from NCSU Center for Geospatial
Analytics specializes in imagery processing techniques with Unmanned Aerial
Systems(UAS) and will be presenting valuable insights about the recent
advancements in the field of Geoscience analytics using the drone
technologies. Please refer to the following links for more information.

*Speaker Information*

*Dr. Seth Hollar* from ECE department of NCSU focuses on high technology
entrepreneurship with both educational and market-driven emphasis. Apart
from teaching highly impressive entrepreneurally focused
cross-disciplined(Electrical, Mechanical & Aerospace) subjects Dr. Hollar
is involved in a) entrepreneurship in transportion, b) NCSU Engineering
Entrepreneurs Program c) NCSU Entrepreneur's initiative d) Residence
manager of Entrepreneur's garage and e) CTO of Wiser systems, a wireless RF
company located in Tech incubator on Centennial Campus. Dr. Hollar got a
PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UC berkeley in 2003 after graduating
from Electrical Engineering background. In transportation, Dr. Hollar's
work addresses automated public transit ground transportation with an
emphasis on lower-cost solutions for commercialization.

*Dr. Justyna Jeziorska *is a Research Associate in the Center for
Geospatial Analytics at NC state Univeristy. Dr. Jeziorska is a
geographer, cartographer and GIS specialist who has been working with
UAS-obtained imagery since 2012, processed countless UAS-obtained datasets,
and teaches NC State students how to use drones for their research. In the
process, Dr. Jeziorska has published many research papers in the subject
matter. Dr. Jeziorska also teaches brief continuous professional
development workshop involving UAS Operations & Analytics at NCSU - where
students learn to select a drone matching their needs, fly safely and
legally at NC, prepare and execute flights to collect data, get the most
out of your drone & UAS data, and processing concepts from raw UAS imagery
into a final useful analytics.

IEEE ENCS RA24 chapter appreciates the passion, drive, highly impressive
efforts and cotribution from Dr. Hollar and his EcoPRT team on
Entrepreneurship initiatives, robotics & automation and Dr. Jeziorska
towards Geospatial analytics and wishes continued success and all the very
best to their career & life.

Thank you.
