[TriEmbed] BBB DTOs with kernel 4.x

Anyone use a BBB (BeagleBone Black) with a 4.x kernel and DTOs (device
tree overlays)? I'm not a super-serious BBB developer - I have one on my
desk doing little more than display a temperature graph via
Python/Pygame on a little 1.8" TFT acting as a framebuffer. It's running
fine on 3.8. I have a feeling Adafruit may not yet have updated their
Adafruit_BBIO library to work with 4.1.

As an aside, I'd bought the BBB initially on the premise that the PRU's
would make it superior to the Pi for realtime things, but in practice,
what I was wanting to do (RGB LED panel driving) was running up against
memory bandwidth limits, and was actually no better than just
brute-forcing it with a Pi2.
