I've gotten my RFM69HW sender/receiver setup working well enough to put
the data online. I used xively:

You will note the stream height it expressed in meters. This is
obviously not the case, but I have not yet figured out how to define an
eeml type for centimeters yet. I may just covert the distance string
back to a float, convert centimeters to meters, and then back to string.

I am using a tape measure yagi on both ends. I noticed during the night
I lost data. I'm not entirely sure why - might be I need to adjust my
antenna pointing, or maybe the humidity is so high there's condensation
on the sender antenna messing it up. I thought I had transmission
problems solved, so I programmed the sender to transmit every 10
minutes. I'll have to get a laptop set up again with the programming
environment so I can reprogram in the field, as it's a pain to take the
whole thing down as the antenna lead is soldered to the RFM68HW module.

On a side note, I learned that wasps like tree sap the forms when you
drill holes in trees to mount things. I had to smash some freaking HUGE
wasps which kept coming back to some holes I drilled while I was trying
to work on things.
