I think it depends too much on the content and the recipient for there to
be a single answer. If the file is huge, I would rather be able to choose
when to download it and only want a link. Small files depend on content, if
I'm expecting a form or a data sheet from someone, I would rather it
already be on my device when I get the notification that it is 'here',
rather than having to wait for it to download. If I don't really want the
file, then it simply takes up space in my mail box.
