There is a little cross-talk on this topic on this and the Triembed
list, but I just wanted to put out there that while organizing something
of the scope of MFNC is out of my league and out of my available
resources, I want to put my hat in as someone who would be willing to be
part of a group that wanted to help keep it going. I agree there
probably needs to be professional event organizers involved, but I'm
sure we could scrounge up enough people to help in whatever way they can
such that this awesome wonderful event doesn't have to go away. We
already have a dearth of events and gathering in Central North Carolina,
to be such a technologically oriented region. I know jack about event
organizing, but I have many other talents I could put toward the effort.
It is most likely too late for an event in June to happen, but it might
be possible for something later in the year.
Even if it's not possible to have something under the "Maker Faire"
moniker (which I'm pretty sure is trademarked to Maker Media), I'd be
willing to help organize something that is a continuation in spirit of
the event.
If anyone is thinking of contacting Jonathan Danforth, or is interested
in keeping something in the vein of Maker Faire alive in the RDU area,
let me know, maybe we could get together to brainstorm ideas.

Try to contact _Jonathan Danforth the __Founder of Maker Faire North
Carolina. However I am fairly sure the NC event was part of the larger
Maker Fare organization. In my opinion the Raleigh NC event has become
so big that it probably needs a professional event organization to run
it._
