[TriEmbed] Learning Curve Responses

Chip,

To answer your question. You mentioned a few other things that you would
like to do "such as user access, file storage, data export and a report
repository", this will change drastically the code you've already written,
if for not other reasons, than security of your site. So to prevent
reinventing the wheel it is always best to sketch out all the functionality
that you may need, within reason, before you build anything.

This all depends on the life cycle you are projecting for this code. If
it's more than a year or so and the user base could grow beyond a few users
then getting a design down first is always a good idea--this is the
*requirements
gathering* phase of a project. You'd be surprised how just adding user
authentication and authorization can change everything. And
yes authentication and authorization are very very different from each
other.

Like I said in my previous email the web isn't what it used to be. It's
become very complex over the last 10 to 15 years.
