[TriEmbed] GPRS Sensor Trial at Umstead Park

To all,

The Superintendent at Umstead park agreed to let me place my traffic counter on the Route 70 entrance to the park. The sensor “feels” the vibrations on the pneumatic tube when cars drive over it. Since I can simply attach my sensor to the outside of the tube, this test does not interfere with their counter. If this test is successful, the connected sensor could relieve them of having to drive 30 miles each day to check and reset their counters. It could also provide more granular and accurate data.

I am not sure how many days I might leave this test running (need a bigger battery than the 2000mAH LiPo) so take a look at www.mcclellands.org to see what the data looks like.

BTW, this month marks the one year anniversary of my 1st Triembed meeting and getting my 1st Arduino. Thank you all for your patience, advice and encouragement.

Chip
