The next Triangle Embedded computing interest group meeting will be
tonight at 7pm at NCSU Centennial Campus Engineering Building II , room
1021 at 890 Oval Drive, Raleigh. Map: http://goo.gl/maps/wDiyI. All
parking is free during the meeting time. There are spaces in front of
bldg II and a parking deck on Partners Way a bit uphill and north of
Varsity drive. Best parking will definitely be in front of the building
for this meeting, as school's out. More and/or late-breaking info will
be on the web site <http://triembed.org/>.
We'll start with announcements and then "lightning talks." If you have
something short and sweet to share, please bring a slide or two and/or
something to stick under the projector (but enthusiastic arm-waving is
acceptable).
Here are some topics that may be covered:
* Nvidia Jetson update
* Trail activity project update
* understanding the ZigBee protocol for talking between devices
* A few words about the "Codebender" development tools
* five minutes with an inexpensive, open source logic analyzer (what
do I2C and SPI traffic look like, really?)
* Update about Brian's museum/educational projects:
- Dual temperature montor using single-wire sensors
- Railroad hump yard with two turnouts used to simulate a basic
conveyor system
- Bi-directional traffic signal with an NOR gate chip to act as
the left-turn sensor
* understanding the ZigBee protocol for talking between devices
The remainder of the meeting will be the usual face to face, small group
discussions, how-tos, problem solving, etc. Help for beginners is
available at every meeting. Bring your gadgets and gizmos and cool ideas
to share!
Meeting room reservations for June, July, and August have been made.
Starting NEXT month there will be a different room. Details coming.
