Does your pump monitor send you packets or do you need to send it a request ?

If you have to sent it a request, you will have deal with the dynamic
IP from AT&T as well as the internal dynamic IP address of the arduino
ethernet shield.

Maybe you can tell us more about what the monitor has to do over the network ?
